Don’t clog your drain!
Pouring cooking fats, oils and greases down the drains can cause serious and expensive pipe blockages. By not putting any unneeded strain on all your drains and pipes, you can avoid unplanned visits from your plumber, not just on the holidays but year-round.
Clogged pipes and sewer backups are never a good surprise plus they can do significant damage to your home, neighborhood, and the environment.
Limiting contaminants and unwanted items from entering our pipes ensures a clean and properly functioning sewer system, which benefits us all. Minimizing grease and fats in the drain helps us control costs and cost increases to our customers.
DO NOT FLUSH!
Here are a few recommendations to consider regarding the wastewater treatment plant:
- Please flush only toilet paper and human waste.
- If you run out of toilet paper and are using other items such as paper towels, wipes, etc.
PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH THEM!
Please note: Some wipes are labeled “flushable” but should not be flushed down your toilet. These can cause blockages in your sewer pipes and cause wastewater to back up into your house causing additional hygiene issues and potentially structural water damage.
